Most series of apparitions of Our Lady have consisted of small numbers of appearances over short periods of time.

Two major exceptions have occurred in recent times.  Firstly, her appearances at San Sebastian de Garabandal in Northern Spain from 1961 to 1965.  The precise number is not known but was probably greater than one thousand (1,000).

Secondly, her appearances at (or associated with) Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina. These commenced in 1981 and are continuing at the time of writing (17th December 2013). The number of appearances runs into tens of thousands.

These latter apparitions are, at the present time, specific to the visionaries rather than the place.  In other words, if a visionary is away from Medjugorje, appearances occur wherever they are.  Among other places, a small number of these apparitions have taken place here in Dublin, Ireland, during visits by visionaries.

The book that you can download here for free was completed by its author soon after the apparitions ended in 1965.  It is very authoritative.  The author was very motivated, had some access to the four visionaries, had access to witnesses and to relevant documentation, photographs and films.
